Masha Burina

Masha joined CML in 2007. She recently completed her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Washington with a dual major in Economics and International Studies. Masha was the Co-founder and National Director of the Student Trade Justice Campaign, a student group committed to achieving responsible, sustainable, and equitable trade. She was also involved in Humanity in Action, studying democracy, immigration and minority rights. Masha was born in the former Yugoslavia and has lived in France. She speaks Bosnian/Serbian/Croatian and French. Masha is currently serving as a commissioner for the City of Seattle’s Women’s Commission.

Lauren joined CML in 2006. She has worked in the immigration field since 2001 as a paralegal at a Seattle immigration law firm and as an Immigration Consultant for a Fortune 500 company. Lauren works on all types of employment-based cases and has handled VAWA related cases. Lauren graduated from Loyola College with a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology/Writing. She spent a year studying abroad in Leuven, Belgium. Prior to specializing in immigration, Lauren worked in the business department of a law firm and for a USAID funded project by the Carolina Population Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Mary joined CML in 2007. She came to us with 12 years of legal experience including 6 years as a paralegal with a Seattle immigration law firm. Mary earned her Bachelor of Arts with Honors in French from the College of the Holy Cross in Massachusetts and her Certificate in Paralegal Studies from the University of Washington Extension in 2001. She has worked in legal services for low income individuals and families at the Legal Action Center and the Fremont Public Association where she was engaged in legal research and advocacy. Mary has lived in France and Ireland and is proficient in French. She volunteers her time with various civic and social justice causes.

Barbara Hubers-Drake

Barbara has over 20 years of immigration experience. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Northwestern College and taught English at Baiko Jo Gakuin Junior College in Shimonoseki, Japan for four years. She has served on the Board of Seattle Refugee Resettlement. Barbara was the Executive Director, Co-founder and Saxophonist of the Seattle Women's Jazz Orchestra. She now performs professionally with "Our House Jazz Quartet."

Tara Lince

Tara joined the firm in 1990 and helped grow the firm to its current size. She is a senior paralegal and currently manages many of the firm’s administrative processes. Tara received her Bachelor’s Degree in Economics with a minor in Computer Science from Central Washington University. Prior to joining CML, Tara was employed for four years as a manager at a stock brokerage firm and was a licensed stockbroker. Tara divides her time between office and computer systems management, and a wide variety of family and employment immigration filings. She is the firm’s expert in immigration procedural requirements.

Alanna joined CML in 2004. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from the University of Washington in 2001 and her Paralegal Certificate from Highline College in 2003. Alanna interned with the Northwest Immigration Rights Project in Seattle and was a volunteer with the Refugee Women's Alliance. She has experienced the immigration process first-hand, coming to the United States in 1980 with her parents as refugees from Laos. She speaks fluent Laotian.

After graduating from the University of Washington with a Bachelor’s Degree in Russian Language and Literature, Christine worked for a non-profit organization devoted to economic cooperation between the United States and Russia. She joined CML in 1998. Christine speaks Russian and German and enjoys conversing with clients in those languages. She works on all types of employment-related visas, but especially enjoys working with scientific researchers.

Jennifer joined the firm in 2006 after contributing her skills on a part-time basis for several years. Jennifer received her Bachelor's of Science Degree in General Science (Math/Biology) from Seattle University and has volunteered her time in the HIV/AIDS community with Shanti and Rise N’ Shine. She has a great love of animals and is a proud member of the Washington State Bar Association Animal Law Section. Jennifer came to the United States in 1979 from South Korea and returned for the first time in 2000.

She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and Marketing from the Universidad San Francisco de Quito in Ecuador.

Olivia attends the University of Washington where she is majoring in Law, Society & Justice. She is one of the founding members of Kinnaly Dance Troupe of Seattle, performing traditional dances from Laos. Olivia previously worked as an intern for a Professor of Botany and Genetics at the University of Washington studying the mapping of rhododendrons.

Jennifer began working in the field of immigration law as a paralegal in 2000. She joined CML in 2005 and continues to work on all types of immigrant and nonimmigrant employment, family, and asylum cases. Jennifer graduated from Seattle Pacific University in 1999 with a Bachelor’s Degree in English. Before graduating, she spent a semester abroad in the United Kingdom studying Shakespearean Literature at Oxford University and Arthurian Literature at the University of Bath. Jennifer has been a volunteer at the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project (NWIRP) since 2004 and she now also volunteers with One by One, an organization working to eliminate obstetric fistula worldwide.
